Welcome Garth Martin to the 7 Mile Advisors team!
Here at 7 Mile, we are a close knit team with a long history of working together. We have a diverse set of industry relationships, and financial and deal making experience. Our team is dedicated to building an understanding of the markets we work in, in order to provide relevant and actionable intelligence and relationships that our clients can benefit from. From our open office environment to our internal deal process we are team that is constantly working together.
Key members of any investment banking firm are the associates. Associates work on deal teams to make sure transactions are successful, by supporting the client and 7 Mile Advisors account owner. While being an associate can be challenging at times, and difficult to acquire, associates are vital to our team..
We recently added a new associate to the 7 Mile Advisors team, Garth Martin. After graduating from Messiah College with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Garth passed all four of the CPA exams before spending a summer with us as a business development intern.
Most recently Garth has been working as a Transaction Services Associate at Grant Thornton, a leading firm in independent audit, tax and advisory. As a transaction services associate, his focus was on financial due diligence — reviewing financial records before allowing investments to be confirmed in the final steps of the M&A process.
After working on Grant Thornton, Garth discovered he wanted exposure to more of the deal process, rather than focusing on the due diligence aspect solely. Garth understands the rewards of an investment banking career — and looks forward to working side by side with clients to help them sell their business, in order to retire or move on to their next passion.. While the transaction process can be long, when deals are successful there is a sense of accomplishment knowing you helped someone move onto the next chapter of their career.
Ultimately, Garth was drawn back to 7 Mile because of his experience as an intern — where he was able to see how the firm operates as a team. Transactions are supported by everyone in the office, whether or not they are apart of the deal team, creating a tight knit group. The startup-like environment allows for associates to take part in every part of a transaction. Where they must think on their feet and contribute ideas in order to keep up with the constantly evolving industries we work in.
